The purpose of this blog
The dreaded first post..
First let me say that this is not another “make money online” blog - despite the title and what you may think. I’ve been there and done that (i had to target some kind of keyword though). MMO blogs are annoying and stupid. I vow to never re-write another “how to make money blogging” post. Instead I decided to create this blog as a therapeutic means to get stuff done. What do I mean by that?
I have a crapload of knowledge stored in my brain from over the years in regards to making money online. Yes, I am as smart as I think I am. Cocky? Maybe. Shall I brag about my mensa scored? (just kidding, not in mensa). But seriously. I’m 23 years old and made my first $50 online back when I was 12 or 13. Ever since then I’ve been addicted. It’s in my blood. I knew that this is what I wanted to do with the rest of my life - in regard to occupation.
Of course I was a 13 year old procrastinator and put building my online empire on the back burner. Now 10 years later I’m only beginning to understand the consequence of procrastination. That - to this day - is my number one problem in life. I’m full of awesome ideas and am probably more motivated than most, yet I somehow always manage to put things off. Getting motivated is not a problem for me, staying focussed is.
So here I am. I’m creating this blog to hopefully meet new people and find some sort of accountability. It sounds corny I know, but its something I feel like I need to do. I know, without doubt, that I will be successfull online. It’s really not a matter of if its a matter of when.
I have 75 domains. Over the next few months I’m going to create a site and a half a day (adsense on most days). Right now I’m spreading my sites over 3 different areas; Adsense, Clickbank products, and Ebay. The adsense sites I’ve been creating have 8 - 10 decent articles on them. My BANS sites are crappy and keyword stuff - banging them out fast. On an SEO scale I’d rate myself an 7.5 out of 10. I obviously don’t know everything, but I do know a decent amount. I’ve achieved various successes over the past few years - none lately though (haven’t tried).
So how did I make my first $50 online? Through OLD SCHOOL PPC. I had a Sarah Michelle Gellar fan site hosted on geocities. The PPC back then was normally a solid $.05 to $.10 per click via banners. I honestly don’t remember much - but it was easy to defraud. I’d ask people to support me by repeatedly clicking on the banner. Not sure if to many people did or not - I was averaging 50,000 page views a month (based on the old school counters you could put at the bottom of your site).
I’ve ignored most MMO blogs including the one I’m about to mention. Seriously one of the best sites I’ve ever been to about MMO is Courts Internet Marketing School. When I first noticed the blog a year ago I quickly dismissed it as “just another MMO”. I didn’t read anything until recently. Last year “make money online Vic” (Blogger Unleashed) was helping me start a Bubilicious type of site and mentioned Court a few times. Anyway it wasn’t until recently I read Courts post titled:Introduction To Keyword Sniping. You need to read that post. It’s quick and to the point. Seriously, you can make a few hundred thousand dollars this year off of that post alone - if you act on it. It’s a great post whether you are completely new to this or not.
While I’m name dropping I might as well mention my other favorite blog. DoshDosh - one of the most interesting reads of my day. Hi Maki! :o)
Well, my first post is almost finished. I’m going to be coming up with some kind of work schedule soon - and if anyone reads this I NEED YOU TO HELP ME STAY FOCUSSED. lol. I’m serious. I know what to do - I just need to do it. As I mentioned earlier, I’m going to focus on building 1.5 Adsense sites each day. I’m going to break down my day into this:
- 1st hour of day - Keyword/Domain Research & Install Wordpress
- Next 4 hours of day - write 8 to 10 articles on niche
- Next 2 hours of day - build backlinks
- Next hour - break
- Next 3 hours - knock out a few BANS sites.
Thats 10 hours of work per day. I have no other time responsibilities and I’m on the computer all day anyway - so I should have no problem getting this done. I just need to stay focussed and stop wasting time consuming knowledge. This post - from some guy I’ve never heard of inspired me to get off my ass (actually I guess it inspired me to sit on my ass) and create this blog/publish this post.
I’m going to devote the first hour or so (before I start working) to contribute to this blog. Hopefully this will turn into something very cool. I love my blogs name. The “Provisionator” - I grabbed this 8 year old gem off of TDNAM. Anyway - I’m gonna start some work. I’m not worried about this blogs design or link structure for now. I’m not interested in MMO serps just yet - its going to take at least a year or two to get an “ok” position anyway. If at all.
